2007 Marlin Season
This season in comparison to the last 7 marlin seasons was slow on numbers, with some long waits between bites at times although the quality of the fish still remained, with most boats experiencing great fishing with the big fish that Cairns is renowned for.
We caught a total of 53 for 60 days of marlin fishing (plus 10 days fly fishing) – weighed first grander for the season on the 26th October at 1102lbs and caught 2 others that I estimated between 950-1050lbs (Nov) and 13 est 700-900lbs. Each of my charters had highlighted fishing which was great and we finished the season amongst the top few boats for numbers.
The new boat “Top Shot” was excellent and proved to be an ideal charter game boat. She was reliable, fished really well had fantastic refrigeration and a new electronics package which proved to be exceptional. She was comfortable, spacious and airy and have had great feedback from everyone onboard her
